It is that light which directs all stakeholders, including citizens, legislature, judiciary and every other system that is in place in India. It is the single document which lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers and duties of various institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles and the duties of citizens. It oversees all laws that are made to govern India and anything in contrast to its text is not lawful. It is the supreme law of the land.
