Insolvency was previously governed by multiple legislations but with the growth in business activity there was need for a single law to solve the problem of insolvency and bankruptcy efficiently and quickly. Therefore, came into force, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, 2016. This Code seeks to consolidate the existing frameworks that are available for insolvency and bankruptcy.
